Majalengka is known as the city of wind because of its geographical location; from the existence of Mount Ciremai which is located in the south of Majalengka Regency. The wind blocked by the peak of Mount Ciremai then blew hard as it passed the highest mountain peak in West Java.
Majalengka in the dry season, wind speeds can reach 30 knots or 56 km per hour, for normal speeds around 15 knots. This makes Majalengka the only area in region III Cirebon (Cirebon, Majalengka, Kuningan, and Indramayu) in West Java that has the office of the Climatology and Geophysics Meterology Agency (BMKG).
